Are You Listening?

Gentle promptings,

Fiery feelings,

Sudden thoughts,

Peaceful calm,

Urgent warnings,

Detailed dreams,

The ways the Holy Ghost can influence are as numerous as the sands of the sea.

Leading forward,

Avoiding danger,

Confirming faith,

Guiding goodness,

Bestowing peace,

Granting knowledge,

The fruits of the Spirit are positive, proactive, protective, and invite goodness.

In tune,

Without pressing,

Really repentant,

Not fettered,

Open hearted,

With desire,

The heart the Spirit influences will be prepared, engaged and waiting to hear it.

Heeded promptly,

Really grateful,

Always searching,

Recognizing sources,

Not self-serving,

Staying worthy,

Our way of responding to the Holy Ghost determines if and how often it comes.

Too independent,

Too prideful,

Too busy,

Too selfish,

Too negative,

Too sinful,

We can push away the Spirit in our lives without really intending to do so.

Heartfelt praying,

Sacred scriptures,

Uplifting music,

Earnest seeking,

Serving others,

Commandment keeping,

The Holy Ghost comes quickly in response to these sacred things as we humbly seek it.

(In gratitude for inspiration received this morning.  The Spirit seems to influence me the most in the early morning hours—just after waking.  I feel such a spirit of creativity and inspiration during that time.  I am truly grateful.)
