School Poems

Here is a small collection of poems that I wrote for my class.  Every Monday morning, they copy a poem off of the board.  I decided that I would like to have a few of my own in the mix.  Here they are:

Fall

Leaves fall
Temperatures fall
Rain can fall
Sometimes even snow will fall
Is it any wonder they call autumn
Fall?

Back to School

My shoes are new—
     my backpack too.
My parents are impressed.

My pencil’s sharp
     My brain is fresh
It’s early and I’m dressed.

I can’t wait to meet my teacher,
I’m so much smarter now.
So ring the bell—
     ‘cause can’t you tell?
I’m ready to be back to school!

Halloween

Big orange pumpkins, all sitting in a row.
“Orange” you glad its Halloween
     to see their faces glow?
Little wispy white ghosts who all say “Boo”.
They are scarier than the owls that just say “Who”.

Old looking hags and candy bags—
The street is filled with fun.
It is a shame, and much more tame,
When Halloween is done.
