The Prophet

The Prophet

Stooped and frail,
    yet a tower of strength
He serves, and loves—inspires.

Old—worn-out,
    but he willingly does
All that the Lord requires.

Why must he
    endure the pains of life
When he so gladly gives?

How can he
bear up when he is spent?
Because his Savior lives!

He shows his
    faith by his steadfastness—
A hallmark of his life.

Each day a
    sacrifice giv’n anew
Amidst all mortal strife.

Oh, may we
    from his example true
Learn all that we should do.

That we might
grow in our faith and works
And find our Savior too!

(At October General Conference, Pres. Monson was very weak.  Yet he spoke with every bit of strength he had.  This was written as I pondered about him.  October 13, 2015.)
