Courage

Here is a poem that I wrote as I was struggling to have courage to go on with my Master's research.

Courage

Courage is not born in the
Gentle breeze of a sunlit day.
It is forged in the fiery
            Wind-whipped cauldron of darkest night.

The depth of courage is not measured
In one simple task or moment.
It is gauged by sustained faith
            Over the test of time.

Courage doesn’t magically appear
            When heart-felt panic ensues.
It is nurtured in a life of faith
            And purpose—bereft of fame.

Courage isn’t noised about
            Seeking audience or voice.
Its quiet duty is fulfilled
While no one knows the cost.

Yes, it’s quite clear, the price you
Pay for courage is very dear.
But, its rewards and hea’vn-sent

            Help are worth any toil.
